2004 Gibbston Valley Pinot Noir

Röd, lätt färg med tegelton. Frisk, nyanserad doft med spännande utveckling. Inslag av rosor, läder, blomvatten, citrus och rödkål. Mjuk, elegant, utvecklad smak med inslag av viol, hallon, te och rosor. Ett helt integrerat och harmoniskt vin med perfekt utveckling. Lite tunn i mellanregistret och saknar längd.

Mer info om årgången: Vineyard: Fruit sourced from 3 sites: Bendigo, Alexandra and Gibbston, Central Otago. Hand picked from the 13th of April through to the 12th of May. Wine Analysis: pH 3.6, TA 5.9, Alcohol 12.5%. Winemaking: 11 months French Oak maturation; 40% new, 35% one year, 35% two year old. 10% whole cluster ferment. Clones 5, 6, 10/5 and Dijon Clones 113,114, 115 667 and 777. Fermented in 3-5 tonne open topped tanks for about 7 days using a combination of yeasts and fermentation techniques such as differing whole bunch percentages. Hand plunged. Fermentation temperatures peaked at 30-33ºC and the wines were pressed at an average of 6 days after reaching dryness. The different vineyard sites and fermentation techniques were treated as individual lots right through production. The wine was bottled in March 2005.
